How do you set the return time?
This is the only genuinely difficult part of booking a Space Center day, and it is difficult because nobody can answer it honestly in advance.
- Most people underestimate the day - The complex is larger than a first-time visitor expects, and the bus tour out to the further sites takes a substantial part of the afternoon on its own. Six hours is a realistic minimum for anybody who wants to see it properly rather than quickly.
- So book long and pull it forward - Set a return that assumes a full day, then call and bring it forward if you finish early. That is a five-minute phone call. Pushing a return back at short notice depends on whether the chauffeur has another booking behind you, and on a busy day they will.
- If the group might split - Older children who want the whole bus tour and younger ones who have had enough by mid-afternoon is a common problem. Two vehicles at different times is one answer; holding one vehicle for the day is usually the simpler and cheaper one.
- Adding Cocoa Beach on the way home - It is close, it breaks the journey, and it turns a long day into a better one. It only really works if the vehicle is held for you rather than released after the drop-off, so mention it when you book rather than deciding at four o'clock.
