Disney to Port Canaveral Transportation
Resort checkout in the morning, boarding in the afternoon, and a week of luggage in between. One booked transfer that starts at your resort door and ends at the terminal.
Going straight from a Walt Disney World resort to a Port Canaveral sailing is one of the more awkward days in a Florida holiday, and it is awkward for reasons that have nothing to do with the drive. Resort checkout is usually late morning. Boarding closes in the afternoon and does not move. In between you have a week's worth of luggage that no longer has a room to sit in, and quite often a final park morning that somebody in the group wants. A single booked transfer solves the whole shape of it: the vehicle collects at the resort with the bags, holds them, and delivers you to the terminal inside your window. The run itself is a little over an hour in normal conditions. Call or text 689-407-2496.

What does a Disney to Port Canaveral transfer cost?
Flat rates per vehicle, not per person. Here is the run one way and as a return, for anybody coming back to the Disney area after the sailing.
Insider note
Book the pickup for earlier than the arithmetic says. The drive is a little over an hour, but embarkation day has three things that all run late: resort checkout, bell services retrieving your luggage, and the terminal queue itself. An hour of slack costs you a coffee at the port. Being an hour short costs you the sailing, and the ship will not wait.
Why this particular day needs planning
Not because the drive is hard. Because everything either side of it is time-boxed and the deadline is absolute.
The ship genuinely does not wait
Every other deadline in a holiday has some give in it. This one has none, which is why we build slack in rather than quoting the quickest route.
A week of luggage, no room
After checkout the bags have nowhere to live. The vehicle becomes the answer, so it needs to be sized for cases rather than for people.
Collected at the resort door
Not at a bus stop, not at a central pickup point. Your chauffeur comes to the porte-cochere of the resort you are actually leaving.
One vehicle, one group
No shared shuttle collecting from four other resorts first, which is the version of this trip most people have had before and did not enjoy.
A final park morning is possible
If somebody wants a last few hours in a park, that can work. It just has to be planned rather than attempted.
Priced before the day
A fixed figure agreed in advance, which matters on the one morning of the holiday you least want a conversation about money.
How do you get from resort checkout to boarding?
Work backwards from the boarding window, not forwards from checkout. That single change is what makes this day work.
Start from your boarding window
Your cruise line gives you a window, and it is the only fixed point in the day. Everything else is arranged against it rather than the other way round.
Subtract the drive, then add slack
The Disney area to the terminals is a little over an hour in normal conditions. We add a genuine buffer on top rather than assuming normal conditions on an embarkation morning.
Subtract the resort exit
Checkout, retrieving luggage from bell services and getting a family to a curb takes longer than anybody plans for. Half an hour is realistic, more with young children.
Whatever is left is your park morning
Sometimes that is three useful hours and sometimes it is none. Doing the arithmetic in this order tells you honestly which, before you promise it to anybody.
If you do want a final park morning
- Choose a park close to your resort, and prefer one you can leave quickly
- Check out first and travel with the bags rather than returning to the resort afterwards
- Set a hard leaving time and tell everybody in the group what it is
- Tell us the plan so the pickup is at the park rather than the resort if that suits better
Coming back the other way
Disembarkation is the easier direction but the earlier one, and the terminal is busy from first light. A booked pickup with a set time and place beats trying to arrange transport from a pavement with your luggage and several thousand other passengers.
What do Orlux riders say on Google?
Orlux Rides has consistently maintained a shining 5-star rating on Google. Here is what riders say, pulled in live from our verified Google Business Profile.
Why luggage decides the vehicle on this trip
More than on any other transfer we run, and it is the thing groups get wrong most often.
- Cruise luggage is bigger - People pack differently for a sailing than for a park week: formal nights, more changes, and often a case each rather than shared bags. A group that arrived in a sedan frequently cannot leave in one.
- You have also been shopping - A week at Walt Disney World adds volume that was not there on the way in. It is a genuine factor by the end of the trip.
- The rule we use - Count the large cases, not the people. Up to 3 passengers with modest luggage suits a Luxury Sedan. The same three with three large cruise cases usually wants a Luxury SUV. Four or more people with a case each is a Van or an Executive Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.
- Tell us and we will size it - Give the passenger count and the case count separately when you enquire. We would much rather send a larger vehicle than have a family standing at a resort curb on embarkation morning discovering the boot is full.
This transfer is best for:
- Park-and-cruise families - combining a Walt Disney World stay with a Port Canaveral sailing
- Same-day switches - checking out of the resort and boarding the ship on the same day
- Final park mornings - one last visit without risking the ship
- Full cruise luggage - travelers with a large case each rather than carry-ons
- Shared-shuttle veterans - anyone whose last transfer collected from four resorts first
- Disembarkation mornings - when arranging transport at the terminal is the worst option
What catches people out on embarkation day?
Specific to this journey, and mostly about time rather than distance.
Bell services is the hidden delay
Retrieving stored luggage on a busy checkout morning is not instant. Allow for it rather than assuming the bags appear when you do.
The terminal has its own queue
Arriving at the port is not the same as boarding. Security and check-in take time, and they take more of it at the peak of the window.
528 is fine until it is not
The route east is usually straightforward, but a single incident on it has no useful alternative. That is the main argument for leaving early.
Name your terminal if you know it
Port Canaveral has several, and they are not adjacent. The cruise line tells you which; passing it on saves a lap of the port.
Size up, not down
The single most common problem on this route is a vehicle chosen on passenger count that cannot take the cases. Count the bags.
Cocoa Beach is minutes away
If your sailing is late in the day, an hour at the beach beats an hour at the terminal. Say so and we will build it in.

How do you book a Disney to Port Canaveral transfer?
Three steps, and the boarding window drives all of them.
Send the sailing and the resort
Your boarding window, the resort you are leaving, how many people and how many large cases. Call or text 689-407-2496 or use the form.
We work backwards and quote it
We set a pickup time against the window with real slack in it, size the vehicle to the luggage, and give you one fixed figure in writing.
Collected at the resort door
At the porte-cochere, bags loaded for you, straight through to your terminal.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take from Disney to Port Canaveral?
A little over an hour in normal conditions, and the honest answer is that the drive is the least of your worries on embarkation day. Checkout, retrieving luggage from bell services and the queue at the terminal all take longer than people plan for. We set the pickup against your boarding window with genuine slack built in rather than quoting the fastest possible run, because the ship is the one deadline in a holiday that has no give in it at all.
Can we visit a park on the morning we sail?
Sometimes, and it depends entirely on your boarding window. Work backwards: start from the window, subtract the drive plus a buffer, then subtract the time it takes to check out and get a family with luggage to the curb. Whatever is left is your park morning, and it is occasionally three useful hours and occasionally none. Tell us the plan and we can collect from the park rather than the resort if that works better.
What size vehicle do we need with cruise luggage?
Count the large cases rather than the passengers. Up to 3 people with modest bags fit a Luxury Sedan comfortably, but the same three with three full cruise cases usually want a Luxury SUV. Four or more travelers with a case each is a Van for up to 10 or an Executive Mercedes-Benz Sprinter for up to 14. Larger vehicles are quoted on request. Give us the passenger and case counts separately and we will size it properly.
Do you collect from the resort itself?
Yes, from the porte-cochere of the resort you are actually leaving, not from a central pickup point or a bus stop. It is one vehicle for your group with no other collections on the way, which is the main practical difference from a shared shuttle. Give the exact resort name when you book, because several Walt Disney World properties have similar names and separate entrances.
Can you bring us back after the cruise?
Yes, and booking both directions together is worth doing if you are staying on in Orlando afterwards. Disembarkation is the easier direction but a much earlier one, and the terminal is busy from first light. A pickup with a set time and place beats standing on a pavement with your luggage trying to arrange something alongside several thousand other passengers.
We are coming from the airport, not from Disney. Is this the right page?
No, and the difference matters for pricing. Transfers starting at Orlando International Airport (MCO) are covered on our Port Canaveral transfers page, which has the rates for that route and handles flight tracking and terminal meet-and-greet. This page is specifically for guests leaving a Walt Disney World resort. Text 689-407-2496 if you are not sure which fits your day.
